Georgia: 0
Georgia Tech: 3
In the first meeting between the two teams since 1916, the Golden Tornado was victorious over the hated Georgia Bulldogs. Tech’s only serious attempt at a touchdown came in the second quarter, when they had a drive fall short at the Bulldog six yard line. The game’s only score came in the third quarter when Tech’s Ivan Williams hit a 45-field goal for the go-ahead score, and the eventual victory in this defensive slugfest. The rivalry has been played every year since, and due to its intensity, has become known as “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate.”
